I am a production manager and a filmmaker at afrikalive.tv, a pan-African production company based in Nairobi, Kenya. I have worked in the media industry for the last nine years. Our main productions are TV and online news, Features and documentaries – our latest documentary is ‘Turtle Rescue’ – a Giving Nature a Voice Project by the Aga Khan University School of Media.
I started my career as a live TV producer for a midday business show at NTV Kenya. From there, I went on to become a content producer and writer for Africa 24 Media – a pan-African media agency that connects the rest of the world with content production resources and information from and about Africa.
After the revolution in Egypt in 2011, I met youngsters whose spirits were still alive. In 2014, I was in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo, for the Peace One Day event, where I met young people full of hope for a better, more peaceful country.
Over the last two years, I have produced stories for the DWTV eco-Africa program on environmental conservation – a topic so close to my heart among many other successful and heart-warming stories.
I have traveled to more than 15 African nations capturing the positive Africa and African talent. This experience has inspired my work.
