June 18th – July 13th Stories Found Workshop, I was amongst the 14 applicants selected out of 940 who applied. Had a week per module which started on MONDAY18th followed by a workshop which began on Monday July 9 and ended on Friday, July 13th. I had the honor of directing one of the documentaries called SHOTO based on the Matatu culture. One of the two stories I had pitched in the application.
Greatest lesson learnt was time is the most crucial bit to any production. We did this production in 6 days. Where on Monday it was more of a meet and greet, shot in two days, edited it in another two, graded in a day and we watched it on the 6th day. Not even the facilitators thought it would be possible.

24th May, 2017 1st Assistant Director- Mr. AMU pilot shoot. The most interesting bit about this shoot was breaking down a six-page scene. This scene had a lot of interior/exterior moving parts and this was one of the greatest concern as to how that would be shot and in my breaking down the scene I ended up solving both
the director’s and producer’s headaches.
My role was to break down the script, advise on order, trouble shoot- some of the lights the production had hired did not work and I called and negotiated with a service provider who got us the lights in less than 30 mins. While the service producer contacted by the producer was responding three hours later. Lesson learnt
good contacts are important.
