Austin Phiri is a multi skilled television and video production person with a flair for writing and producing high quality content documentaries, music videos, commercials and television programs.  Austin has experience in working in television (Zbctv), outside broadcasting, television and video production houses set up in various positions ranging from production assistant, storyboard artist to content producer. He has done sound for live television, talk shows, television sports using outside broadcast vans and was sound assistant on (Davis cup tennis 2002 -3 and international cricket 2015), television drama series and short films. He is a documentary script writer, producer and director.  He has directed many music videos. He wrote the script and produced Eternal identity a documentary on islam in Zimbabwe. He wrote the scripts and produced thirteen episodes documentary "Mawungira" on the types of mbira found in Zimbabwe and their players and  "Out of tune", on media polarization in Zimbabwe  which are  both in post production.

Austin holds several certificates in television, video and documentary production from the now defunct UNESCO Zimbabwe television project for southern Africa. He also holds  certificates in business from Empretec Zimbabwe, calligraphy and  applied art and design.

Austin has worked for Zimbabwe broadcasting corporation television as a technical operator majoring  in sound. He was an in house content producer, scriptwriter, sound recordist, camera operator and video editor for different production houses that he worked for in Zimbabwe and Botswana. He worked as sound assistant in 2015 for three international cricket tours that came to Zimbabwe. He has eighteen years production experience. Free state a short film that he did sound recording for won the best sound in 2014 at the international images film festival in Zimbabwe.
