Agola Simon is a Certified performing Artist with a Bachelor’s Degree in Drama and Film from Makerere University, Uganda. My Goal is to help tell the African Story the right way using Sound and this is reflected from my background, Quality and Authenticity of the works and projects I have worked on. I have had the opportunity of Working with and being trained by Quad-A Records, one of the best names in the Audio Engineering Industry across Africa in the different stages of sound for film through the Quad-A Academy. My study at Makerere University grounded me with different skills and knowledge of the film and performing arts industry. I am currently a Freelance Production Sound Mixer/Recordist, Boom Swinger, Dialogue and Sound Effects Editor where I have managed to work on a number of Ugandan and African Feature Films, Short Films, Series and Television Dramas. Most of my works have featured and still feature on Multichoice Television channels, Showmax and Amazon Prime. With two years of experience in the Film industry as a Sound person, one of my works was nominated in the 2023 Uganda Film Festival Awards in the Category of Best Sound Design for the movie “THE MATRON”. Some of the Projects I have worked on include; Brotherhood (Loukman Ali), Dial M For Maya (Mathew Kavuma), The Matron (Maurice Mugisha), Popi (FunFactory), Nambi (Peter Mukiibi) and many More. I have also worked with and been Mentored by some of Uganda’s best Industry Sound Recordists and Mixers Like Isma Ssemujju and Rebecca Amulen. I also have different experiences in Acting and as a Production Assistant. Besides Film, I am a manager and co-founder at Afro-Arts Studios, Events Director and Performer at Afrique Arts Troupe. I am a Passionate Film maker, Performing and creative Artist who loves to learn and share my knowledge with the world. My mission is to help Re-brand Africa Through sound by helping in delivering Quality and Authentic African works.
