Sonwabo Mphandle was born in a small rural town called Lady Frere in the Eastern Cape Province and matriculated at Hector Peterson high school in the Western Cape Province. He studied acting and African music in the University of Cape Town. He also studied acting for Camera Course at City Varsity in the Western Cape. Sonwabo is an international artist best known for his role as Ayabonga on Isikizi S1 and Thabiso on Ukukhula on Mzansi Magic. He also played guest supporting male roles in numerous television dramas such as Izakhamuzi, midnight as well as Ejoni Film. Sonwabo has acted in several theater plays such as Buzani Kubawo, Foul Play, Chappies, The Victim, Nkalakatha, and Inxeba Lendoda Alihlekwa.
