I am a young filmmaker from Zambia hoping to contribute to the growth of the film industry in Africa. Having completed my undergrad and post graduate degrees in film at the University of Cape Town, I am hoping to learn more and gain experience by working in the industry and offering my skills, education, and talents to aid in its growth. By assisting in the growth of the industry, I am hoping this will also serve to empower, inspire, and create more opportunities for young African filmmakers like myself.

HONS FILM THEORY AND PRACTICE, UNIVERSITY OF CAPE TOWN I completed my film theory and practice honors degree with a specialization in documentary filmmaking in which we were required make teams and produce thesis documentary films. I took on the role of cinematographer in our thesis film which addressed the detrimental effects of the surfing industry on the environment.

MARCH 2019 – NOVEMBER VIDEOGRAPHER/VIDEO EDITOR, UNIVERSITY OF CAPE TOWN VARSITY NEWSPAPER Created digital content for my institution’s varsity newspaper that allowed students to engage with student affairs in more dynamic and engaging ways. This included filming and editing; Varsity Newspaper events, Vox pops on campus and events linked to social change. Content is all available on UCT Varsity Newspaper YouTube channel. APRIL 1ST 2018 – MAY 5TH 2018 CAMERA OPERATOR, HILLSONG CHURCH CENTURY CITY Assisted in operating cameras for the 6pm youth services as well as working in the control room assisting in the streaming of church services, both on the church monitors and online livestreams. 5TH OCTOBER 2018 – 6TH OCTOBER 2018 BEHIND THE SCENES CAMERA OPERATOR, BENCH FILMS Captured behind the scenes videos and stills on the set of the Bench Films short film ‘The Story of a Baked Brownie’. This assisted bench films with enough digital content to use in the online branding and promotion of their film. Reference letters will be sent at your request.
