Melusi Mnqobi Molefe is 24 year old recent graduate of the Market Theatre Laboratory (2020) where he studied towards a full time diploma in Theatre and Performance. He describes himself as an actor, voice over artist and emphath. A former student activist, in 2019 he moved to Gauteng after winning the Arts and Culture Trust Scholarships for Acting. His career highlights include winning two Naledi theatre awards as a member of an ensemble for Best Independent /FRINGE for No Easter Sunday for produced by the market theatre and directed by Mwenya Kabwe, Nhalnhla Mahlangu, and Best tertiary/incubator production Eclipsed: Phifalo ya Ngwedi, produced by the market theatre laboratory and directed and choreographed by Sylvaine Strike, Gina Schmuckler and Phumlani Mndebele. Melusi’s interests are accent work, impersonations, method acting, and he’s currently working on a stage play based on the life and time of Dambudzo Marechera.
