Full names Benas Daniel Banda, also known as B-Money and Mr. 50K. Born on 15th May, 1994, Benas is an event MC, television presenter.and actor He grew up watching a lot of TV and in the process fell in love with pop culture. He was never the first to be picked on the playground but he did have other talents. While his friends played sport, he would pretend to be a commentator.
With his skills and unique quality, he was the captain of his high school debate team and was later appointed school deputy headboy in his final grade in 2011 at Matero Boys' Secondary School, one of the most prestigious schools in Lusaka, Zambia.
In 2016, his media career kicked off after winning the Zambezi Magic Zed Top 10 Presenter Search. Winning a grand prize of K50,000 ($5,000) and a contract with Zambezi Magic. Zambezi Magic is an M-Net TV channel on the DStv platform tailored for the Southern African viewer and airs in all English speaking Southern African countries except South Africa. He was the host of Zed Top 10, a Zambian music video countdown show, from October 2016 until January 2017.
Following Zambezi Magic's decision to not renew Benas' contract for a second season of the show in July 2017, he launched an online vlog titled "7 Days in a Week" in retaliation to the decision and in a bid to remain relevant. 7 Days in a Week is an online satirical show that pokes fun of Zambian entertainment and pop culture. The first of it's kind in the country and it boasts of over 110,000 total views across Facebook and Youtube. After the success of the online vlog, Benas later became a judge on the 2017 Fresh TV Presenter Search and began to host a number of Zambia's biggest events such as the Levels Party - Maleek Berry Live. He was also the hip-hop news anchor on the previously ended Eardrum show on ZNBC Radio 4. He was the presenter of the 2018 Lusaka Sunday League on a Youtube web show, Lusaka's number one amateur football league.
In 2019 he also made his acting debut on the Tizibika Special. A one off special festive season episode of the television show on DSTv's Zambezi Magic where he played a character spoofing South African rap star AKA as the "Ultra Mega." Much to the delight of the viewers. Apart from TV presenting, acting and being a master of ceremony, Benas does do stand-up comedy once in a while. He is also a graduate from the University of Zambia with a Degree in Demography with Development Studies.
