bio
My name is Nwabisa Buhle Gqweta, 18 years of age, from a small farm town in the Eastern Cape. Like any other typical “small-town girl” story, Johannesburg has always been a place where my heart resides, carrying with it all my goals and wishes that one day I will not reside in this city but I will be listed among the best in South African Film & Television. I want to become an actress.
My hearts intentions have been clear for a very tender age. Growing up more especially in my high school years I showed leadership skills and talent in theatrics and music. I participated in a number of school and community activities that include The President’s Award where I am a Bronx & Silver level holder, The Cathcart High School Senior Choir, The Drama Club, Debating Club, Chess Club and most importantly the Head girl of the Student Representative Council. My writer and speaker of the IsiXhosa (Home language), English (2nd HL), Spanish and IsiZulu Language.
I am currently in my first year doing a BA Political Philosophy Sciences in the University of Pretoria. The decision to choose between Political Studies and Visual Art or Drama studies was a hard one but I am young women of many talents and abilities and id like to believe I can take a little heat of living my fruitful dream- best of both worlds. All the above are my means to show how versatile I am and persuade this Company to invest in my talent, to invest in my future in this cut-throat industry.
