CRAVEN SIYABONGA LIWANI NTOYAPHI is a director, cinematographer and editor who is currently Running a film production company called WORKER BEES MOTION PICTURES that is based in Scenery Park East London. Born in the year of 1986 June 20 in East London and rised in Cape Town.
I started as an actor doing community theatre under the auspices New Africa theatre Project in late nineties at Ulundi Centre in Guguletu. Then later joined a theatre group in 2001 called Guguletu Drama teaching children dramatic arts and life skills at the community halls. Later graduated into filmmaking in AFDA film school 2007. I’ve acted in a number of short films and namely INJA (DOG a coproduction between South Africa and Australia in 2008 that was nominated for an Oscar Academy award 2009 (for live action short film. Worked as a 2th AD in Unomthi an examination film project in AFDA 2008. I won an NTVA Stone Craft award for Best performance in a short film live action for INJA 2009
I directed my first documentary film in 2009 called SIYABULELA 2010 10min film, Directed a hip hop culture documentary called FREESTYLING CATZ 13min film. I’ve worked as an Assistant
Gaffer in the Music Video by the Rockets. I’ve worked as a Camera person for a promo video for
Sizofika Films called Siseteratyini. Shot a short film called Art Galari that was Shown on SABC 2 in March 2009. It also played at Cape town TV. I shot and directed a mini Documentary called Kapawood for Encounters. I have shot numerous music videos for Local artist like (KWERIES, STAFF, TRAPPERDONS, LANII THE TRAPPER, LORIGINAL and many more. I was a D.O.P
