bio

A young, vibrant and charismatic 31 year old, born in the friendly city of Port Elizabeth (Eastern Cape – where SA’s most notable and treasured artists comes from). I am Zandile Mngaza aka The Muze. I am an artist, raised in an artistic home, where my mother is a seamstress, my aunt a model through most of her teenage and early adult years, my nephew a saxophonist and trumpeter in a band and I, a Hip Hop DJ and model. I’ve always known that I want to be an artist and entertainer but couldn’t quite figure out how and what it is that I would do, until my mother enrolled me into a modelling/talent agency where I realised that I enjoyed being on stage. Growing up I was exposed to a variety of music from the likes of Anita Baker, Chaka Khan, Tupac, Common, Lil Kim, Bongo Muffin, TKzee, Boom Shaka, DJ Ready D and DJ Oskido to name a few and I knew that I wanted to make music as captivating as theirs. I would dress up and perform around the house to my family and in front of the mirror until I realised I want to do it on stage for nations. I got to kick-start my DJing career early this year, when a friend saw my potential and decided to help me out as he is a very talented DJ himself. He got me to play at his event and it was very exciting as that was my debut in the world of disk jockeys. I have since played at six events in and around George, Western Cape and at the Garden Route Casino, where I am currently working as a Host Supervisor. In developing my brand and craft, I have started lessons on music production and working on releasing a song soon. I am also working on not only Djing at events but venturing into Radio and TV ads as I believe I have a voice that can change the game.
