I'm a makeup artist, self taught for 6 years before getting formal training by a Friend of mine who learnt makeup abroad and is her current occupation.
I love makeup because of its art, the ability to become more beautiful and flawless and how it affects one's mindset and mentality of "I am beautiful, I am confident, I am perfect".
So my experience of makeup has been in practice practice practice. I've never liked having a made-up face looking too plastic and cakey. I have always desired for a flawless base and whenever I keep seeing the wrong I keep working until till I see the right. And that has helped me to be different, I always have the end result testimony of "her face is really smooth and looks flawless"
My experience in makeup self taught and trained, has been a series of trail and error, having models to makeup for events and shoots and also bridal makeup looks. Worked for three months in a makeup studio and since then am more of a free lancer with a dream to have my own beauty home.
I'm also a hair stylist, self taught for four years and trained for five months under top class beauty and spa in Owerri, Imo state. I love hair, especially natural hair and love how it is easy to manipulate and create so many styles and rock them in events and parties. People always complain of their hair and how hard it is to manipulate and all the time they result to relaxing and changing their curl pattern so the stress is lessened. I call that "chickening out!" Because of that and many other reasons I fell in love with natural hair and HAIR in general and aspired to sought ways to learn it and teach the world that it's not so hard after all. Because of this passion I have worked in salons like three now (including my place of training) majoring in braids, treating and styling natural hair. I have also engaged in two different seminars where I have spoken on Natural hair and it's Art and how you as a person (Male or female) can make it work. I have trained alot of people in the knowledge of natural hair and have helped to nurture their hair to growth and have helped them to style their hair confidently without shame.
Finally I'm passionate about movies and have always wanted and still want to be a movie director. Since my love for cartoons and movies, the drive became stronger after I began to study movies (in the university) on my own looking at faults made and providing solutions to fix it. I have no experience in working in any movie house but I have in working in studios and being under certain photographers learning photography.
I love photography and believe that the first step I need to take towards becoming a movie director is through photography (Am still in training). When being Infront of the camera, I'm more shy and withdrawn but when placed behind a camera, my creative acumen is very much activated and I begin to explore possibilities and opportunities thereby creating a masterpiece! I don't like being the focus but I love having others being the point of focus and creating celebrities out of them. My motto is "come let me rebrand you for the world to see". I'm passionate about movie directing and photography and I'm working and learning and taking every opportunity and steps that will gear me forward into achieving that dream.
