experience

I have worked as a high school teacher in both South Africa's rural and urban centres, I worked as a journalist and radio producer/ presenter on Channel Africa, the external radio station of the South African Broadcasting Services (SABC). I also worked as a television reporter and reader for the SABC. I worked with an educational radio NGO project called ABC Ulwazi, where I researched, scripted and produced educational radio content including drama for SABC radio and community radio stations across South Africa. I joined the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) as a public information/ communications/ external relations officer where I have steered and produced content for the Roll Back Xenophobia campaign, conceptualised, scripted, drafted and produced comics, flyers, reports and radio programmes on the plight, rights and obligations of refugees and other people of concern to the UN agency. I have worked for the UNHCR in Ethiopia, South Sudan, Angola, Zambia and Cameroon where I have come across fantastic narratives and personal stories, written and posted on the UNHCR global website. I am currently writing a series of short stories. I am particularly keen on scripting for television and film.
