Catherine Credo Masanja was born on August2,1997 in Dar es Salaam,Tanzania her mother,

Mwajuma Isa,is a small entrepreneur, and her father, Credo Masanja is a former worker at

Tanzania International Petroleum Reserves Limited(TIPER). She now lives with her mother after

her parents got separated on 25th ofJanuary 2017. Catherine was brought up in Kigamboni, Dar es

Salaam, and first studied at Rahaleo primay School then to Aboud jumbe secondary school. She

started taking acting classes at grade 6 from street acting groups every day after school time and

she made her first public acting performance in 2012 at school graduation ceremony.

Catherine's acting career took shape when she joined Kidedea Art group in2009 before she joined

African Entertainment when kidedea died .Moving around Art groups became Credo's life when the past group dies.She 

has worked with 6Art groups before she ended up with DoubleJ Arts group at Buza.

Credo made her first screen appearance in "Moyo wa Shetani", with a local film production

schiedam media. She made her second appearance and her first big production appearance in the

feature film "Fatuma" with Media For Development International (MFDI) where she played as the

main character Neema ,A rural daughter of an irresponsible father who wants to finish her studies

and dodge the planned early marriage. Catherine's out standing performance reunited her with

Jordan Riber, the director of the film Fatuma, in his feature film "Bahasha". Where she was also casted as main character "hidaya

And in July 2018 Catherine was awarded best actress award in Zanzibar at ZIFF(ZANZIBAR INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL) Through the film"Fatuma".
