bio

Silvana Pombal aspires to be a freelance actress known as A Actriz Aprendiz and works as a producer in the field of performance, especially in contemporary dance. She joined the theatre area in 2015 where she has since worked with several theatre groups in Maputo, the city where she grew up and lives, including with the first professional Mozambican post-independence theatre company Mutumbela Gogo. At some point she felt the need to develop personal work as an actress seeking to involve a physical effort that she is fascinated, originating the project in process ''Inappropriate Subjects at the Dinner Table'', which consists of a collection of stories told on the stage around what is being a woman, what it means to carry a woman's body in a place where just being is questioned and seen as contradictory, thus conceiving the project as a space for protest and outburst. In 2020, due to the crisis brought by the pandemic, she decided to break the principle of acting only in theatre, making her debut in the tv in the serie ''Aquele Papo''. The following year she was cast in the film ''Nhinguitimo'' directed by Lucinio de Azevedo in the character of Nteasse. She is currently trying to finish her degree in theatre at Eduardo Mondlane University, as well as acting as an actress and working as a production assistant in an international contemporary dance platform named Kinani.
