Thando was born and raised in Soweto, Johannesburg. She has always loved acting.
She did school and stage plays throughout primary and high school. Her extra curricular activities included dancing and singing. She was a noisy child, always trying to re-enact what she saw on television. After completing Matric, she studied psychology at Wits University, only to discover that she had no intention of pursuing that career. She saved up some money by doing part time work as a waitress, and enrolled at AFDA, where she did music, screen acting, TV producing, writing, tech, and post production.
She later graduated first year ( laude). This resulted in her receiving a bursary to complete her studies.
She has a deep love for the arts and never settles to be less than great. Her dream is to continue to humble herself to this gift, and learn and grow as much as possible along the way.
