“The future of Africa’s film industry is heading in the right direction,” says emerging Malawian videographer Jonathan Kapumba. “So far I have seen individuals using Red cameras and Black Magic cameras and serious directing especially in film industries in South African productions and Nollywood.” Dreaming of one day becoming a director of photography and documentary maker, 27-year-old Jonathan is hoping to one day create a short documentary film called Bridging, showcasing talent amongst the youth in Malawi with the aim of bridging the gaps between the youth and their ambitions.
