Born in Ndola and based in Lusaka, 24-year-old Tasha Chitka has ambitions of becoming a film and TV producer.

With a degree in Mass Communications from the University of Zambia, Tasha hopes her experience at MTF will give her the chance to improve her skills and show her creative strength, as well as open up doors in the industry, through networking opportunities. Tasha believes that one of the biggest challenges facing film and TV industries in Africa is the lack of education and training resources.

“A lot of people do not have an understanding or access to TV and film,” she says. And therefore considers MTF’s academic and experience-based training programme crucial to the skills development of future filmmakers, and the opportunities it can give budding filmmakers such as herself.
