Born and based in Lusaka, Zambia, visual artist Abel Ngoma recently completed his high school diploma at Chinika Secondary, and dreams of not only growing his art practice but also participating in Africa’s video entertainment industry.

If he could create any video content, the 19-year-old says it would definitely highlight Africa’s art scene. “There is so much art in Africa that needs to be shared!” At MTF’s southern African academy, Abel says he hopes to gain new skills and knowledge about film and TV, and says he is looking forward to making fresh contributions to the cultural communities of Africa.

Interested in Africa’s diverse film and TV industries, Abel is moved by film stars such as Yul Edochie and Chinedu Ikedieze, and says, “The dynamic ways of telling stories is what gets me fired up in Africa’s creative industry.”
