Umar Sani Lawan popularly known by his company name as U. K. Entertainment or S. K. Mazugal(born September 9, 1982)[1] is a Nigerian movie maker,and executive producer of the company as named above. He is one of the best, with highest number of years and experiences having being in the Hausa movie industry for about two decades. his early entrance to the industry at the age of 16 gives him an upper hand and earns him respect among the industry members and followers as well as the rest of the social Institutions to which he strives.
In 2017, Umar rose to fame after the release of his award-winning movie Kasko which earned him simultaneously; recommendations and disappointments in and outside the movie industry. Umar's Kasko was considered by many as the most selling movie ever produced by U. K. Entertainment in the new millennium. For it has reflected on the activity of Hausa society and the Kind of Child abuses faced by persona (Kasko) such as harsh labour, child labour, and mental the mental abuse, where all together changed his attitudes.
Umar U. K. Entertainment works with the best directors in the Hausa movie industry to produce his films as well as the most paid actors such as Ali Nuhu, Adam A. Zango and Rahama Sadau.
Early life
Umar was born in Kofar Mazugal province of Dala Local Government Area in Kano State. He attended Masaka Primary School in Kofar Mazugal and stopped at High school. That was due to the pressure exerted to save his family after the death of his father, It led him to street DVD and CD hawking, form there to his Company which is now ranked among the best Hausa movies producers in the world.
Early career
Lawan's interest in movie industry began in 1998 due to an influence by a friend in the same street CD/DVD selling. He joined the industry at the age of 16. Lawan's debut started in 2008 when he released his movie Garin Mu Da Zafi. The release of the movie came at the time of a dip political crisis between Kano State Government and the Hausa movie industry as a result of a leaked video of an actress which many considered to be a blue film.
Influence
Lawan's dominance in the Hausa movie industry was as a result of his early entrance having being a top producer with a highest selling number of movies. His company became a household name among the Hausa movie viewers. Popular director, Aminu Saira described Lawan as his role model as they have been producing movies together since 2008.
His youthful exuberance and ability to lift many, to include Directors, actors/actresses, singers, and other artists made him loved and cherished by majority. He welcome changes, and respect trans-cultural activities performed in films and music industries.
His Company is also doing its best to connect with others. say international film Directors, producers and other talented artist to help him build the kind of impact he wanted to have on the people.
