bio

I names are George Bush Komakech, I am an Agricultural and Biosystems Engineer from Makerere University as well as a stand up comedian. I joined professional stand up comedy in 2014 while in Uganda for school. In the same year, I was recruited by Anne Kansiime to be part of her creative team as a creative/comedy writer. I contributed in the writing of her famous series “Don’t Mess with Kansiime” and her debut sitcom “Girl from Mparo”. For four years I also contributed in writing her stand up material.

As a stand up comedian, I have performed on all the platforms in Uganda including but not limited to “Comedy Club live in Kampala” a Multi-Choice production, Comedy files, Comedy Store, Pablo Live, Fun Fuctory, Small Brothers Comedy Club and Rock Comedy.

In November 2016, I was nominated to represent the rest of Africa at the South Africa “Grab the Mic” competition during the Comedy Central Roast battle held in Johannesburg.

After my return in Zambia, I have performed on all the major stand up comedy platforms and currently part of the Night of Laughter Comedy club. I have also featured in a sitcom as an actor for MPTV.

Because of my passsion for writing, I am producing and co-writing a comedy special for Chingliz (one of Zambia’s best comics)

I am also a writer and co-host of a TV show “Friday is Fryday” that airs every Friday on ZNBC TV1.
